"There was a child went forth everyday, and the first object he looked upon, that object he became, and that object became part of him for the day or a certain part of the day... the lilacs became part of this child, and grass and white and red morning glories, and white and red clover, and the song of the phoebe-bird, and the third month lambs and the sow's pink-faint litter, and the mare's foal and the cow's calf..."
-Walt Whitman- from the book "Nurture the Nature"
I just love this quote. Don't you agree?

Candy Cane Hat
This is one of my holiday knits. I knitted several hats during the holiday season, for gifts and for my boy. I took pictures of this hat indoor, but somehow the orchid color wasn't true. So here it is... I made my boy P to wear it out.

The true blessed sunlight shows better pictures of the Candy cane hat. I love the pattern I surely knit more later~~~
I just LOVE knitting for my P and taking pictures wearing them, hahahah
Pattern: Candy cane hat from "Handknit Holiday"
Yarns: Lion Brand "Taupe", Blue sky dyed cotton "Orchid"
Needle: Begins with sz 5 (3.75mm), Starting pattern with denise sz 6 (4.25mm ) and decreased with regular sz 6 (4mm).
Comments: To finish this hat to fit my boy (almost 15 month by then), I knitted extra 2 of hats. The first one, I knitted as the book said Baby Size. (is 15 month considered as Child or Baby? I truly don't know.. hmm...) It turns out the beginning roll up was fit but the pattern is somewhat tight he can't wear it. The second one I knitted Child Size, it was too big from the beginning. So, instead of lessening the sts, I reduce the needle size and it worked! Pattern says the top i-cord is done by the same color as the roll up beginning, but I changed the other color for fun. And the i-cord (I just love this little antenna) was knitted with 4 sts, instead of 6 sts. It looks quite right with the baby size, but seems little sknny for child size hat. I will do the 6 sts i-cord next time.
Overall: I love this hat in every way. I wish the top decrease is more smoother than now. He has about 46.5cm head circumference and the hat is little snug. It will fit next year, too.

Finally!
Finally, I open my knitting blog, hooray!!!
Hello, everyone. I am so excited of opening my own knitting blog. I had mine about 5 years, but it is written in my first language. Since I am a knitter and a blogger I always want to communicate with other knitters. I started to knit from my teenage years, but didn't knit much until past 4 years. I am in early thirties, housewife with my cute 15 month old boy. I don't have much time to knit tied with my boy but only trying to knit as much as I can. Thanks for reading and I will start to post my first knitting entry soon~
